THE PORTAL to BBX 2007

A Special Word

About BBX-Expo 2007

Greetings Everyone:

All across the Southland, entrepreneurs are hard at work, readying their products, designing their signs, rehearsing, networking and stepping up their game all around.  It's sort of like the small town excitement you feel  when there is a County Fair coming.   So what's the occasion?

The 19th Annual, Los Angeles Black Business Expo, Sept 21-23 at the L.A. Convention Center.

It's an exciting time and we hope you will join us.  Our business owners are ready to meet you. Come see what's new!

For starters, check out what's coming up at BBX '07by watching this clip on You Tube.

Or simply enter this portal, and click on the topics of your choice.  We think you will enjoy seeing all the new faces coming to the Celebrity Lounge. You can meet the cast of "Tyler Perry's "Why Did I Get Married?" and so many others. The Tastin' Black Culture Food Court, (preparing food for thousands this weekend at the Expo) will have just the tastes you crave.

Perhaps you would rather join us for the Tom Bradley Business Forum on Friday at 1 p.m.  You will reconnect with the powerful names that walked alongside Mayor Bradley and see a video we pulled out of the vault--an interview Harold Hambrick, BBX president, filmed between Dr. Clyde W. Oden and Mayor Tom Bradley. It's never been shown publicly before.  We honor him and that is why we renamed our Business Institute--our series of free seminars (unless otherwise noted)-- upstairs on the second level The Tom Bradley Business Institute. The Presenters are polishing up their speeches.  They want to help you succeed and  become an entrepreneur, too!

Clothing designers are feverishly sewing, completing their lines for the BBX Coolture Fashion Show on Saturday.  Our Celebrity Spokesperson Wendy Raquel Robinson will host.  Hair designers are plotting some cool designs and some outlandish "Can you top that?" show stoppers.

And go see the Health, and Fitness Pavilion featuring the Sportszone!  Chock full of celebs from Mother Love to Kiki Shepard, you will see health demonstrations, martial arts, learn cooking secrets, get lifesaving health screenings and meet toned fitness experts and athletes on a mission.

There is so much more to tell you about the West Coast Black Music Festival, West Coast Gospelive, Autoland, Black Wall Street, Arts Zone and exhibitor success stories, but we've got an Expo in a few days!  Just come!  Unless otherwise specified, all events and pavilions are included with the price of your ticket...a low $5 per person per day, children 12 and under free! Please bring the entire family!

As we like to say, this weekend, all roads lead to the Los Angeles Black Business Expo, and we are in Tom Bradley Hall (South Hall) named for our illustrious former mayor at the Los Angeles Convention Center.  Hitch a ride, take the Metro, do what you must do to get here!

Thanks to the press, the electronic media and the word of mouth that carried our message to come out. And tune in Saturday Morning at 8 a.m. to L.A. Speaks Out on KJLH (102.3 FM) so you can hear Jacquie Stephens interview a cross section of hot new businesses owners.

Much of what we are doing is in the "Events at a Glance" section, but please know there is a whole lot more.  You just have to come.  Bring your camera.  We promise you there will be something to snap you will want to remember.

From Opening Ceremonies Friday morning (Meet our sponsors and exhibitors!) to The Hair Show that closes the Expo on a high note each year...there is a lot to learn, see and do.

And the stages will be jumping at the West Coast Music Festival.  Ollie Woodson is a sure crowd favorite. Warren G. will MC and his guest will be Countess Vaughn.

Join Harold Hambrick, President, Myra Wallace, Expo Director and our entire staff this weekend for this  19th Annual Expo.

Get your tickets at the door--bring the entire family.  We will see you here from Noon til 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday and Sunday, noon til 6 p.m. in Tom Bradley Hall (South Hall) at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

That's Sept. 21-23---in just 4 days!

We sincerely hope you join us!
